This could be the start of an exciting new hobby for you! Whatever your reason for joining Bristol Fashion, you’ll be sure to get a warm welcome from our members. Our ages range from 20s – to 70+ and we come from a wide variety of backgrounds. We love getting together to sing, learn, laugh and make beautiful music.
Weekly rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from 7.15pm – 10pm at Greenway Centre, Doncaster Rd, Bristol BS10 5PY
We currently have about 35 members - we have no limit on quantity, just quality. We like to have fun in an inclusive, relaxed and fun environment.
1) Rehearsals - we rehearse weekly on a Thursday evening
2) Personal rehearsal time - as much as you like in your own time. This is important time as we do like people to come to rehearsal music down and knowing the notes. It means we can concentrate on refining the sound & performance, rather than learning notes. And this allows us to make the most of our rehearsal time.
3) Shows & convention - We attend the LABBS convention in October and have different shows and coaching throughout the year.
4) Repertoire - we're always building on this, concentrating mainly on the barbershop style.. Barbershop voicing from the top is tenor, lead, baritone, bass. If you do decide to audition our MDs can help you with choosing the best voice part for you if you are unsure.
5) We run an audition process which requires singing the audition song in a quartet you will then be provided feedback and whether you have passed.
- The application form is straightforward and just gathers some basic personal details
- you will be supported by your section leader with the audition song and when you are ready you will be asked to sing the song in Quartet, you will then be given feedback a few days later,
