Melodies in March

Wow! March has been a busy month!

At last – March saw us perform in a real life Festival!  And we won two trophies – Outstanding in Popular Song class and a Distinction in Open Class.

Read what our new member Justine had to say about her first singout with Bristol Fashion !

Saturday 12th March 2022 was my very first sing out with Bristol Fashion Chorus, and for me it was just the best day. BF hadn’t sung “live” to anyone since before Covid and I’d never sung out with them before at all. We were singing 4 songs at Bristol Festival of Music, Speech and Drama held at Red Maids School. I’d learned my part over and over and over and was excited, yet at the same time nervous, I did  not want to let the chorus down or sing any bum notes. Thankfully I didn’t, or hope I didn’t anyway!

I can’t really put into words what it means to sing with this lovely, friendly chorus. I have never felt so welcomed and included in a chorus as I do with Bristol Fashion, and my first sing out on Saturday was everything and more I hoped it would be. So, thank you everyone, we all did so well on Saturday and made a beautiful sound, which would not have all come together of course without the fantastic direction from MD Craig, and we even brought home 2 trophies!

Singing with BF puts a huge smile on my face and in my heart. Thank you for letting me join you all.   Justine Brown Xxx

Justine has certainly slotted into the chorus beautifully and we feel so lucky to have her on board.

We went straight back into rehearsals to  prepare for our amazing evening with the God-father of contemporary  a cappella Deke Sharon Deke Sharon – Wikipedia

On 21st March, we gathered with several other choirs and choruses from the local area ready for a wonderful evening of song with Deke, a plethora of hilarious anecdotal stories and under the spotlight coaching of Bristol Fashion and one of our sister choruses, Fascinating Rhythm.

Fancy being advised on our performance by the musical director of the movie Pitch Perfect ! We were thrilled and took away some super ideas that will feature in our Anniversary Show later this year.

This really was a fantastic experience which left us inspired and overjoyed at being able to sing together again with so many of our friends in harmony.  The fabulous venue, Christ Church in Downend Bristol was ringing with the sound of 90 singers united in our love of harmony – hear us on this link:

Huge thanks for this fantastic evening, organised by Beth Morgan – Home – The Creative Choir Leader

We are so thrilled to have been invited to sing at a celebration evening of Bristol Festival class winners at another gorgeous church venue – Trinity-Henleaze, United Reformed Church. It is set to be another great evening of song and celebration.

As we fly into April – watch out for more exciting news from Bristol Fashion.

Meanwhile if you would like to book us to sing at an event or you are a keen singer looking to develop your craft – why not visit us at Westbury on Trym Academy on a Thursday night 😊Contact us on or through our Facebook group Bristol Fashion Chorus –
