Blog

It’s been a long time, but we’ve made it….

Happy New Year !

Gosh I can’t believe the last blog we wrote was July last year.

The chorus has been catching up on being together time, learning new songs, finding a new venue, returning to in person rehearsals INDOORS ! and learning to run those rehearsals alongside Covid restrictions and guidelines.

In October we joined some of our sister choruses in Didcot for a Unconventional Convention which was quite emotional as it was the first time we had seen many of our fellow barbershoppers for two years.  We sang songs together, learnt a tag or two and then settled back to listen to Champion Quartet, Avalon and some of our friends in LABBS singing songs they had learnt during lockdown through many months of Zoom rehearsals.  We released the Bristol Fashion Big Day Out video.  https://youtu.be/pgQ7Zklmk20   as part of this year’s convention and were thrilled with the response and support from the public who watched and enjoyed it.

We celebrated Children In Need together and Christmas came and was gone in a flash.

Here we are in 2022 raring to go in hopefully a year which will look a lot more like ‘normal’

We kicked off the year with a fabulous coaching weekend with Rob Mance, our amazing coach from USA, the first face to face coaching session since March 2020 which incidentally was Rob’s last chorus coaching weekend before the world shut down.

We are now preparing for a recording session in a beautiful church so will release the recordings next month. We can’t wait to start performing again and hope to bring you so much enjoyment.

This year we will celebrate our 45th anniversary – please look out for #Challenge45 and join our celebration of 45 years of fabulous friendship and wonderful singing and performances.

We are very happy in our new home at Westbury on Trym Academy – we still meet there on a Thursday night 7.30 pm – 10 pm. Please contact us if you fancy coming along to hear us and perhaps join us.

Take care

Janis
